first weekend part 2

2
After a week I am writing again, not that I was completely busy but….
Krishna river was dry outside Vijayawada bus stand, felt disappointed because we were not able to take a bath. The two idlis with hot coconut-peanut chutney and ginger chutney was burning my mouth when I boarded into a express APSRTC bus towards Machilipatnam. That express took more than two hours to travel 65 km on the state highways.
The actual plan was to go to Machilipatnam, seashore town of AP, by bike from Hyderabad. Satish decided otherwise because he saw the weather report as thunder showers. So he had booked that bus which instead of taking us to Kakinada left us in Vijayawada so we can bath in bay of Bengal.
Machilipatnam made me fall in love with its simple looks. It is a small town surrounded with farms and also has a big shore. Beach was our first destination and last one too. As soon as I saw the beach I decided to stay there for the whole weekend, there was a resort too in a walkable distance with ocean view. He didn’t listen, he wanted to meet Godavari.
So, after few hours of fun with ocean water and few shell picking we started towards Rajmundry. Before boarding that insane bus which took more than 5 hours to travel a 160 km distance, we had a wonderful meals in a 60 year old mess and seembu (a desert made from cow’s milk just after it gives birth).
In that five hour travel only two minutes made me feel that this bus should not stop anywhere, other than that remaining 298 minutes I was waiting for the 300th minute.
Rajamundry, a busy small riverside city, with lot of farming activities going around. This is the third time I am visting. Godavari was not flooding as people were warning us. We made reservations for Papi Kondalu (Papi Hills) ferry ride for the next day and decided to put up ourselves in a cheap lodge to relax our body.

It can’t be true, but it is, I am busy and not able to complete a single blog properly! See now it is third week and still am stuck somewhere. It is not just that am so busy, still most of my blogs are written during office hours to make myself relax for few mins between things I do, now don’t try to use this statement to sue me, you are wasting your time thinking about it, and these days that few mins I use it for different purpose though it is writing but to a more larger audience, one person, so this is kept under construction always.
I am not interested in prolonging this trip details any longer. So, will give vital infos that would help you and close this episode. That would be good for all.
So where did I leave it?
Hmm… yes,
  • That bus was an insane animal going so fast that I came to a point where I wanted to get down and run.
  • Only good two minutes was when a lady came sat near me. She was initiating a conversation and then found that her mobile was missing. She got my phone and dialed her number. No response. Eventually in 200 mts she got down and went in search of it. I tried that number after 2 mins and found it to be switched off. Bad that she had to lose it and bad that I missed a company coz of it. Anyways that is something expected here right?
  • Rajamundry in night was welcoming us with millions of mini speed breaker on the longest bridge in Asia across Godavari river. Now imagine that with a suspension less apsrtc bus!
  • Stayed in a lodge overnight to catch all the missed sleep and before that booked for the ferry for next day.
  • Now this next day started nicely with walk on Godvari river, but was ruined by the luxury bus they gave as part of the package to reach the ferry. It was a four wheeled dabba called as tat sumo and had to fit in ten people. Now I got the front seat with a small girl sitting next to me without getting hit by the gear.
  • The drizzling and grey clouds kept my anger on check. It was nice countryside.
  • About ferry ride am not gonna tell much as I knew it was my biggest mistake to book it. It was not my type, that’s all. With so many loudspeakers singing telugu songs so loudly and a guy shouting from his lungs to entertain the crowd and the guys trying to enjoy the Godavari by throwing their lays and cigarette butts inside was making me feel sick.
  • The place was awesome, howelse will mother nature be at her best? But this noise irritated me. I kept my focus with mothernature and was aloof all the time.
  • Evening returned back to Rajmundry with a promise that next time I will come alone and spend peaceful time with the mother.
  • Rajmundry’s rosemilk made everything worth. That owner was a humble man and his dish was even humbler with 60 years of heritage. I loved every sip of it. Would travel to drink that alone again.
  • Return journey was on a Volvo without movies. Quite neat.
  •
Now I know this is not what I wanted. But just filling this so I atleast have a record. Next time when I go there, i should be fulfilling what I wanted.. for now.. adios.. July 22, 2013.

    finally over...oops...
